Plus, you can customize these in so many ways. Imagine, Lemon donuts, chocolate donuts, Blue donuts (which I know blue isn’t a flavor, but to some 4 year old, blue is a flavor, lol) the list could be endless.
Things you will need:
- I Love This Yarn in Light Taupe & White (or any color for frosting)
- Poly-Fil
- 3.50mm / E Hook
- Stitch Marker
- Yarn Needle
Abbreviation:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- st = stitch (es)
- Sl st = slip stitch
Notes:
- The donut is worked in 2 pieces, the bottom piece in taupe and the top piece in white.
- You will then attach the middle of the 2 pieces and the sprinkles
- Then you will stuff it as you sew the outer edges together
- Finished donut measures approx. 5’’ in diameter
- Leave a long tail when you start and when you cut the yarn. You will use the tails later to sew the pieces together.

Round 6-8: sc in each st around (56)
Cut yarn leaving long tail
Repeat for the other side
Before we sew the 2 pieces together, we will first embroider the sprinkles
Take whatever color (s) for the sprinkles and cut a piece about 12’’ long and put it on a yarn needle
Sew on your sprinkles
Use as many colors as you want. Be sure to knot the ends, so they won’t come undone.
Use as many colors as you want. Be sure to knot the ends, so they won’t come undone.
We will now sew the middles together. Hold the 2 pieces together with the wrong sides facing each other. Stitch them together with the tail from either piece.
Once you get all the way around the middle, knot your yarn.
Now, you can start stitching the outside together. I whip stitched around, a little at a time then stuffing as I went along.
Once all the way around, knot and weave in end.
Enjoy!
